FAQ

The questions we are asked most, in broker language rather than legal language. For the legal detail, see our Terms of Sale.

The equipment is sold in its current condition, at its current location, with no warranty express or implied beyond what is agreed in writing. You are buying what you inspect, not a specification sheet. We describe condition as accurately as we can from the seller's records and our own site visits, and we arrange inspection before you commit.

Yes. Once terms are agreed we ask for a deposit, typically 10 to 20 percent of the purchase price, to take the item off the market and cover the seller's costs if you withdraw without cause. The balance is due before dismantling begins or before title transfers, whichever is agreed in the contract.

Yes, and we recommend it for anything over a few hundred thousand euros. We arrange site inspections under NDA, either in person or via a third-party inspection firm if travel is not practical. Running tests are arranged where the seller's operations allow it.

No. Listed prices are exclusive of VAT, dismantling, shipping, rebuild and commissioning unless the listing states otherwise. VAT treatment depends on the buyer's location, the seller's location and the export route, and we confirm the applicable treatment before contracts are signed.

We coordinate logistics through our network of riggers, freight forwarders and customs agents, but shipping cost and risk sit with the buyer unless a delivered price has been separately agreed. We can quote shipping as part of the deal or leave it to your own logistics team.

By default, dismantling is the buyer's responsibility and cost, carried out by a contractor of your choosing or one from our network, working to a method statement agreed with the seller. Some listings include dismantling in the price where the seller has specified it. Check the listing's price qualifier.

Listings are priced in euros. We can invoice in GBP or USD on request, with the exchange rate fixed at the point of contract to remove currency risk from the transaction. Payment is by bank transfer, and escrow is available for buyers who prefer it.

Before we release the full dossier, photographs, drawings and any commercially sensitive detail, we ask you to sign a short mutual NDA. It protects the seller's confidentiality and, in most cases, is turned around within a day. Once signed, we send the dossier and can arrange inspection.

Typically a detailed equipment list by section, technical datasheets where available, maintenance and inspection history, photographs beyond what is shown on the website, and a floor plan or general arrangement drawing where the seller holds one. Contents vary listing to listing, since we work with what the seller has kept.

Often, yes. Complete plants are usually saleable by section, for example the bleaching section on its own rather than the whole refinery. Say what you need in your enquiry and we will confirm what can be split from the seller's side.

We assess original specification, condition, age, maintenance history, current market demand and comparable recent sales, then benchmark against our own transaction data across Europe and further afield. A written valuation typically takes one to two weeks from a completed site visit.

Mostly we broker: we market on the seller's behalf and take a commission on completion. In some cases, for equipment we know moves quickly, we buy outright. We will tell you upfront which basis applies to your enquiry.

For a single, well-documented item, four to eight weeks from first enquiry to completed sale is typical. Complete plants with export logistics can run three to six months, mostly driven by dismantling and shipping lead times rather than the commercial agreement itself.

Yes. Our network sources and places equipment worldwide. Cross-border deals take longer to close because of export compliance, customs and freight, and we factor that into the timeline we give you.

Tell us before you sign. We would rather adjust the deal, the price or walk away cleanly than have a dispute after completion. Once contracts are exchanged, the equipment is sold as inspected, which is why we push buyers to inspect properly beforehand.

Yes, for the destination country's import requirements, licensing and duties. We flag anything we are aware of that could affect export, such as dual-use classification on some process equipment, but the buyer is responsible for confirming compliance before shipment.

Yes, for buyers who want it. We can coordinate dismantling, freight, customs and installation logistics through our network as a managed service on top of the brokerage. Ask in your enquiry and we will scope it separately.

We focus on used industrial process equipment: plants, lines and major mechanical items. We do not deal in scrap metal, general office equipment or consumer goods. If you are unsure whether something fits, send us the details and we will tell you plainly.
